Why do hospitals take advantage of sick people and their relatives?
Every visit a love one dying in a hospital? If you drove, you probably paid an exhorbitant fee for parking. Four or five dollars for a half hour, or more. Why is that?
Because they can. The sick person is trapped, their family is trapped, and their visiting friends are trapped.
The hospital will say they need it to keep costs down. Total lie. If a parking garage across the street can charge 1/2 that and make a profit, so can the hospital. Basically it is a monopoly and they're gouging the sick and vulnerable.
